Wide Angle Side Stretch gives kids a new way to sit, as they stretch and improve circulation in their legs. Perfect for circle time, you can have children connect their feet to each other to create a group pose!

Some of our favorite kids yoga activities that incorporate this pose are Bees Make Honey and Octopus’s Garden. Both are fun and easy ways to bring yoga into elementary schools, preschool, or yoga class.

Step 1
Sit with your legs in front of you, with your legs spread comfortably apart.

Step 2
Gently place one hand on your ankle.

Step 3
Bend at your side, and reach your other arm up and over your body.

Step 4
Hold this pose for a couple of breaths, then lower your arm and sit up straight.

Step 5
Repeat on your opposite side.
