Spider Pose is a fun and animal-themed yoga pose that kids of all ages enjoy! For bug-themed yoga activities, you can find this spider in Busy Bugs and The Very Busy Spider.

Use Spider Pose to improve balance, strengthen legs, and increase core strength. Children will also develop their coordination, as they focus on balancing closer to the floor.

Step 1
Begin in Mountain Pose, then step your feet wide apart.

Step 2
Bend your knees, and place your hands on your mat between your feet. See if you can keep your feet flat on the floor with your feet wider than your knees.

Step 3
Reach your hands behind your legs, and hold onto your heels.

Step 4
Hold still or gently rock side to side.

Step 5
Release this pose by bringing your hands in front of you, and sitting down.
