Legs Up the Wall is a fun and relaxing yoga pose that kids of all ages and abilities benefit from. For birthday-themed yoga activities, this pose makes an excellent birthday candle.

Children stretch and massage their legs, as they slowly lift their legs towards the ceiling. Some of our favorite yoga activities that use Legs Up the Wall are Birthday Cake and Guess How Much I Love You.

This pose is typically done by resting your legs against a wall, but can also be done without using a wall for support.

Step 1
Begin by laying on your back.

Step 2
Lift your legs up towards the ceiling.  If you are against a wall, gently rest your legs against the wall.

Step 3
Rest your arms on the floor next to your body.

Step 4
Hold this pose for as long as you are comfortable.

Step 5
When you are ready, roll to your side and rest there for a couple of minutes.

Step 6
Gently roll yourself up to sitting.
