Donkey Kicks turns Table Pose into a core strengthening kids yoga activity! Introduce this active movement to yoga as kids strengthen their arms and legs and practice their kicks.

Some of our favorite activities that incorporate Donkey Kicks are Ninja Red Riding Hood and Cowboy Days!

To make this movement a little calmer, have children keep one foot on the ground while they bring their other foot to the opposite elbow. Repeat this cross-body motion. 

Step 1
Begin in Table Pose.

Step 2
Press up onto your hands and feet.

Step 3
Kick one leg up, followed by the other.

Step 4
As your legs return to the floor, repeat a few more times.

Step 5
Lower your knees back to the floor, returning to Table Pose
