Dekasana

Airplane Pose is a fun and challenging yoga pose that kids (and adults!) of all ages can benefit from. For animal-themed kids yoga activities, you can easily turn this airplane into a bird!

Some of our favorite activities with this pose are Warrior Series and One Dog Canoe

Use Airplane Pose to improve balance, strengthen legs, and build core strength. Children will also develop their concentration, as they focus on balancing on one leg!

To encourage breathing while holding this pose, encourage kids to chirp like a bird, make airplane noises, or talk about where they are flying.

Step 1
Begin in Mountain Pose.

Step 2
Extend your arms out to either side.

Step 3
When you feel balanced, lean forward, lifting one leg straight behind you.

Step 4
Hold this pose, then return your leg to the ground and your arms to your sides.

Step 5
Repeat with your opposite leg.
