Anjali Mudra

Salutation Seal is usually performed at the end of a yoga class, as we say “namaste” to each other. Several of our Teaching Tools end with this pose, to help signify a calm ending to the activity. You’ll find Salutation Seal at the end of Let’s Go Fly a Kite and How to Catch the Tooth Fairy.

There are many explanations for the word namaste. One of our favorite ways to explain namaste to children is, “everything good and happy inside of me, sees everything good and happy inside of you.”

Step 1
Sit on your mat with your legs crossed.

Step 2
Gently press your palms together and straighten your back. You may also close your eyes.

Step 3
Keep your palms together, and slowly lift your hands over your head.

Step 4
Hold this pose as you relax and breathe, then slowly return your hands to your lap.
