Reverse Table is a core strengthening yoga activity that kids of all ages have fun with! Children strengthen their arms and legs, as they see how many items they can balance on their table.
Some of our most popular activities that incorporate Reverse Table are African Safari and Frog on a Log! Both are fun and easy ways to bring yoga into elementary schools, preschool, or yoga class.
For an added challenge, add some active movement to this pose! Try to keep your posture while you “crab walk” around.
Step 1
Sit with your legs straight in front of you.
Step 2
Bend your knees, and place your feet flat on the floor in front of you.
Step 3
Place your hands flat on the floor behind you.
Step 4
Straighten your arms, and lift your hips up towards the ceiling. Try to make your chest and legs parallel to the floor.
Step 5
Gently relax your neck so it is in line with the rest of your spine.
Step 6
Hold this pose for up to one minute, then release your hips back to the floor and return to sitting.
